Bayeux Tapestry To National Museum Cardiff

In contrast to the English Heritage bid to showcase the Bayeux Tapestry in the British Museum in London, we have just learned that the medieval masterpiece will spend an initial six months in Wales during its loan to the UK from France. Dewi Jones, spokesman for the National Museum Cardiff commented:

“We’re delighted that Emmanuel Macron has agreed to loan the Bayeux Tapestry to us here in Cardiff in preference to London. However, we have not yet decided where we will display it. A meeting with Director General David Anderson is planned on Wednesday to decide on a prestige position. The shortlist locations are either Bayeux or by there.”
