Childhood Memories From Dublin

203

Ciaran and Seamus happened to be sitting next to each other at Murphy’s Pub in Cricklewood. After a while, Ciaran looks at Seamus and says "Hearing you, I can’t help but think you’re from Ireland?" Seamus responds proudly "Yes, that I am!"

Ciaran says "Me too. And where about from Ireland might you be?" to which Seamus says "I’m from Dublin, I am."

Ciaran responds "So am I! Mother, Mary and begorrah bejaysus. And what street did you live on in Dublin?" Seamus says "A lovely little area it was. I lived on McCleary Street in the old central part of town."

Ciaran continues "Faith and it’s a small world. So did I! So did I! And to what school would you have been going?" Seamus answers "Well now, let me see. I remember, went to St. Mary’s of course."

Ciaran gets really excited and says "And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?" Seamus puts his chin in his hands to think and answers "Well now, I graduated in 1964."

Ciaran exclaims "The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same place tonight. Can you believe it, I graduated from St. Mary’s in 1964 my own self!"

As they're chatting, the door opens and Vicky walks up to the bar. Vicky's a regular and sits down to order a drink. Brian the barman walks over to Vicky, shaking his head and mutters "It’s going to be a long night tonight."

Vicky asks "Why do you say that Brian?" Brian answers "The O'Grady twins are pissed again!"
