The parents were so proud when their son Sebastian went away to university, but all he did was constantly write home for money to spend on books, trips, membership fees and so on.
Then halfway through the term Sebastian wrote to tell his parents that he had a lead role in the university play but needed money for the costume. All these requests for money were beginning to really annoy Sebastian’s parents, but they did as he asked. It was a month later when he wrote to them again to say thanks.
“The party was fantastic.” Sebastian wrote. “Everyone thought I looked a real count in the costume.”
On reading this, Sebastian’s father retorted to his wife “Bloody hell, I give him all that money and he still can’t spell!”
